Getting Ready....

So for those of you who haven't noticed, we only have 18 days left until our baby (who is still nameless might we add) is born! We are so ready for this little guy to get here. Thanks to all the generous gifts from family and friends, we have most everything we will need for him! I can't thank everyone enough for the diapers, clothes, toys, furniture, etc. that you have given us! It means so much to know that we have such supportive family and friends surrounding us! Thanks again to everyone!!!

A great visit with the grandparents!

For a while now, Matt and I have wanted my grandparents to come up the canyon with us. We planned a great weekend with them and were able to spend some time with them as well as my parents, Bret and Jan, and Drew. It was alot of fun. It was my grandpa's 76th birthday the first night they were here so we went to dinner for that. Matt's sisters and mom also planned a reallly nice baby shower for me while they were here so my grandma could come to it! Thanks so much!!!! Here are a few pictures of the weekend.

Celebrating my grandpa's birthday! (By the way, I really look pregnant now!)

One night we all had pizza at Bret and Jan's house

These last few picture are up in the mountains with everyone. The leaves were so pretty! If you look close, Drew has a nice shiner from basketball and sorry to disapoint some of you but Matt gave in and shaved. He couldn't take it! The last picture is me, Matt, my mom, and grandpa we are all looking for Elk with our binoculars!

6 weeks and counting!

Well I have about 6 weeks left until our baby is here and we are realizing how close it really is. We are both super excited but it is starting to feel really real!!! The past 7 months have really gone fast but it just seems like time is slowing down. Hopefully the next month and a half don't take too long to get here! Matt actually had this idea to help pass the time, so until the baby is born, he decided he isn't going to shave or cut his hair! Anyone who knows Matt knows that this is gonna be hard because he HATES long hair. The facial hair won't be too hard because he usually tries it each year in preparation for the Deer Hunt (which happens to be the same week that I am due). I really think this is just his excuse to get an early start on it for that but oh well :) Here is the before picture of him. He hasn't shaved in 4 days and this is how far he is. We will post the after picture when the baby is born (if he can last that long).

For those of you I don't see very often, here is a picture of my tummy right now. I feel absolutely huge and have really gotten alot bigger in the past couple weeks. Its so fun to see and feel him moving so much!

Go Bruins!!!

Well, I officially started teaching on Monday! I know, its crazy that summer is officially over and school has started. I still can't believe that I am a high school teacher. I teach 3 sophomore English classes at Mountain View High School in Orem. Go Bruins!! All the teachers had to wear the same shirts on the first day, but I thought it would be fun to take a "first day of school" picture as a teacher :) Sorry it isn't the best picture, I had to take it of myself because Matt was out of town for work.

3 weeks of family reunions....

Well its been a while since I updated this because Matt and I have not been home at all. We decided to end the summer with 3 straight weekends of family reunions. We had one for the Averett's (Matt's mom's side of the family), the Allen's (my dad's side of the family), and finally The Oakey's (Matt's dad's side of the family). It has been a busy and exhausting three weeks but really fun! Here are a few pictures from our weekends. The Allen's had a Hawaiian Luau one night with a limbo contest so we had fun with that.

You gotta love the CHEESY matching Hawaiian shirts :)

Drew and Matt doing the limbo...I think Drew fell hard on this one :)

Matt fishing with two of our nephews (Cole and Corbin) who absolutely love him!

Matt and I drove to the top of this ridge then walked to this look out point...absolutely incredible! Don't mind the board shorts I am wearing...nothing else fits!!!!

Happy 24th of July!!!!!

For the 24th of July Matt and I decided to spend then day with my family then meet up with Matt's family for fireworks. We didn't take alot of pictures so I apologize but it was a fun filled day! Matt, my dad, Drew, and Bret all went golfing at 6:30 am and it turned out to be alot of fun! Anyone that knows my dad also knows how competitive he is on the golf course and is also aware that anyone of his kids who actually beats him for the first time will recieve $100 cash! Sounds pretty confident doesn't he? Well Adam beat my dad years ago and it hasn't happened since then until yesterday... Matt played really bad on the front 9 but pulled it together and actually played incredible on the back 9 and beat my dad by 1 stroke! I guess it helped that my dad got two 8's on the back nine which is extremely rare, but hey its part of the game:)
So as bragging rights, here is Matt with my dad. He is holding the score card as evidence and his crisp $100 bill!!!!!!

After golf we all ate lunch and headed to the outlet malls in Park City. We found some great deals on some things and had a good time. Its fun to shop with my mom and Jan when we are both expecting. Can we say baby stores!?! Lets just say my mom is loving being a grandma with two more grandkids on the way! My parents then fixed us a great dinner and we headed over to see Matt's family.

It is so nice to have both families close because an hour later we were with Matt's parents, his siblings, and our nieces and nephews. There is nothing better than watching little kids watch fireworks...so much fun!

When we started shopping for cribs, my mom and dad told us that they wanted to do something my grandparents had done. They wanted to buy us our first crib. So after searching on the internet we found one we liked. It was delivered to us this past week and last night Matt and I decided to put it together. I never knew how many pieces came in a dang crib box! But Matt was patient and did a great job leading the project :)

And only 1 hour and 45 minutes later, he had it completed. I guess I helped a little but really he did most of the work. And we never even had to start over or take it apart!

We love the crib and thought it turned out really nice with the bedding we have picked out!!!

Thanks Mom and Dad! We love it!
