My brother Drew has been playing basketball in Texas for the past few years and I have never really had the chance to watch him play. So, we were all really excited when he decided to come to Southern Utah University and play basketball. One of their first exhibition games was this past weekend so Matt and I decided to take Ryan down with my parents and Bret and Jan to watch the game. Drew had never met his nephew so he was pretty excited to see him. It was really fun to watch Drew and his team play, hopefully we will get to go to a few more games this season!
Ryan did awesome on his first trip. He slept the entire way down, through the game, and the ride home. He woke up to eat a couple times but other than that he did great! We were all joking that he had the best seat in the car because the rest of us were squished!!!

Happy Halloween
For Halloween the three of us were able to spend some time with our families. It was Ryan's first big outing. He got to visit both sets of grandparents, help carve a pumpkin, and dress up like a Tiger. He did really well for his first time out and I have to say he turned out to be a pretty cute Tiger. Matt and I didn't dress up but decided if anyone asked we were simply dressed up as parents. I know, we were boring but hey that is the last thing I was worried about this week! .JPG)

So much work being cute!
Ryan: 1 WEEK OLD
This past week has been an emotional rollercoaster. Matt and I have both had our moments and breakdowns but all in all it has been amazing. It is crazy to see how much a baby can change in one week! Here are a few pictures of Ryan throughout the week.

Ryan Matthew Oakey
So...we finally have a name for our little guy! After a lot of back and forth we decided this morning that his name will be Ryan Matthew Oakey. This isn't even a name we had really talked about but in the end nothing else fit...he just looks like Ryan to us.
This is right after he was born
Matt posted the pictures yesterday and I had a few minutes today so I figured that I would add to his with some more pictures. Since yesterday he has already changed (his face isn't quite as swollen today). We are already in love with our little man.

Ryan and I are both doing really well. He is just a little stubborn and doesn't want to eat but other than that, he is doing great! I am feeling good and am very grateful that I had an easy delivery! I am definately a little sore today but overall I feel great. Here are a few more pictures of the proud grandparents that were here.

Baby Oakey is finally here!
Today on October 24th, Camie gave birth to a healthy 7 lb 8 oz, 20 inch baby boy! We are in the finaly stages of choosing a name...by tomorrow we will have finalized. Sorry we are the worst decision makers ever! It all started Thursday night by eating a wonderful meal at Texas Roadhouse and then checked in at 9:00 P.M.
The nurse started the pletosum(?) at about 3:00 A.M. but she was only dialated to a two. At about Six they checked her again, but still not much progress. Finally around 12 noon, she was dialated to a 5. Thinking we would have plenty of time, Dave, Debbie and I went down the street to get lunch. After we finished eating, and Debbie was in line for some ice cream, I recieved a call from Camie saying she could have the baby any minute. So I literally yelled and Dave and Debbie saying we have to go. So we got in the car and made it back just in time. When I came into the room, she (Camie) was pushing and I could see the head! We didn't dare push til Dr. Nichols got here who was just down the hall. But there was what they call a "Code Pink" where a wrist band from a baby was misplaced so all the doors were locked and our Dr couldn't get through the door. Finally, a security officer heard the banging on the door and let him in. After Dr. Nichols got to our room, the baby was born after 2 big pushes. Way to go Camie!
He was born at 2:18 P.M., weighed 7lbs 8oz and measured 20 inches, which I think is about 2 inches shorter than what he really is. But he's healthy and has a cool birth mark on is right elbow. We will add more pictures as soon as possible!

Getting Ready....
So for those of you who haven't noticed, we only have 18 days left until our baby (who is still nameless might we add) is born! We are so ready for this little guy to get here. Thanks to all the generous gifts from family and friends, we have most everything we will need for him! I can't thank everyone enough for the diapers, clothes, toys, furniture, etc. that you have given us! It means so much to know that we have such supportive family and friends surrounding us! Thanks again to everyone!!!
