WHAT WILL BABY #2 BE????

We are so excited to find out what we are having! Our doctor appointment is set for Wednesday, April 8 so we are interested in what everyone else predicts. I am thinking it is going to be a girl but I thought that about Ryan too so who knows! Matt on the other hand refuses to really pick a side because he doesn't want to jinx himself (I think he wants another boy:) ) Be sure to vote before Wednesday!!!!!

Crazy Boy!

Ryan is such a character, I had to post a few pictures of him in the past week. He has figured out that he can walk down the stair (scary....I know!) so in turn the stairs our now his favorite place to play!

"I'm still not so sure about this..."
Ryan just lounging on the stairs after diner

He has always loved to eat, but his favorite food is definitely noodles (of any shape or size) and tomato sauce. Figures it would be the messiest meal ever! He was so excited to have pasta for dinner the other night I had to get a few pictures of him! So messy but so dang cute!

Spring Fever!

If any of you are like me, you are getting to the point where snow literally makes you sick! I am so sick of having nice sunny days one day and then snow for the next two. Its not like its cold enough for the snow to stick so it is just wet and annoying. I am all for snow from November to February but once March hits I hate it! Now that I am done complaining about Utah weather, I will get to the point of my post. 1- I realized that I have not updated the blog in over a month and that is kind of sad. 2- Matt and I have wanted to paint since we moved in almost a year ago and we finally did it this weekend. 3- Ryan has started giving the cheesiest smiles I have ever seen and the are dang cute!

1-So I am now 16 weeks pregnant and finally starting to feel better. I can't really complain too much since I don't ever really throw up or anything, but this pregnancy has been tough so far. I am so much more tired than I ever was with Ryan and I am seriously nauseous all the time. I am staring to convince myself this one is a girl just because I feel so much more crappy. I am starting to show a tiny bit but really it is just that stage of "is she getting fat or what?" I'm sure people at church are asking themselves that question every week. We are way excited though and can't wait to find out what we are having.

2- When we moved into this house, every wall in the house (including the trim) was painted this off-white color. It is definately better than white but still really boring. We finally broke down and painted the kitchen and the living room this weekend. This comes after we had paint samples on the kitchen wall for like the last 6 months. I love how the walls turned out, although we suprised ourselves with the kitchen color. This is the before picture of our kitchen with the paint samples.

After...Matt hard at work

I know that orange is a little bold but it isn't like bright bright orange it actually looks really good in person. That last picture is a glimpse of Ryan's chessy grins lately.
And here is the living room wall. (sorry no before for this one)

It's kind of hard to tell but this is a sage green color.
Here is a picture of both rooms from our living room.

3- Ryan's cheesy grins are seriously the funniest thing lately. If we say "smile big" he just looks at us, squints his eyes and pulls this smile out. It is so funny! I have no idea where he came up with this but he does it all the time this week. He is growing so much and is a ton of fun although I am literally counting down the weeks until he goes to nursery ....he is a hellian at church but how can we get mad at this face!?!

THEN THERE WERE FOUR!?!

Well if you haven't noticed the new ticker, Matt and I are expecting baby number two in our family! We are way excited for number two to be on the way but way overwhelmed at the thought of a family of 4! I am 11 weeks along and due on August 23rd (my older brother's birthday:) ) I have no idea what makes us think that we can handle two kids under the age of 2...it will be an adventure that is for sure!
Ryan is 15 months now and he doesn't understand that he will have a little brother or sister but if you ask him where the baby is he does one of two things: he either lifts up his own shirt and points to his belly button or (with a little encouragment) comes over and tries to lift up my shirt and points to my belly. He is so dang cute! I know that he will be an awesome big brother!

Here is a quick update on our little man:

He is growing up every day! Sometimes he will do something and Matt and I just look at eachother and laugh because we are so amazed. He has red hair which actually looks more orange at times. He talks pretty well for his age and never stops! His favorite things to say are: Pam-pa (grandpa) he says this when he sees anyone that is bald or wears a cowboy hat, Dodo, Or Weeler (4-wheeler), Dooooo (Drew), Da, Mama, No no (always after I have told him no no...he's good at repeating it back to me), and he also growls like a Bruin, makes the monkey sound, says whooo like an owl, roars like a Lion, and says Choo Choo anytime he hears something that sounds like a train.
  • He is obsessed with throwing things. He will throw anything and everything down the stairs
  • He loves his basketball hoop and can "slam dunk it" like a champ! He even screams for himself when it goes in!
  • He makes a fantastic car noise
  • He is a natural at leading the music in church...he hears singing and his arms start waving!
  • He has more rythm than his mom and dad and is a great dancer!
  • He no longer walks places...he is always running somewhere!

We love our little guy and can't wait to see what the next one will be like!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Everything Inbetween

I feel like such a slacker! The most exciting part of the year, and I haven't blogged in almost 2 months....SAD! The worst part is, I still haven't even put my Christmas pictures on the computer (hopefully comming soon!)

We had a really nice Holiday Season this year. It was so much fun to have the whole Allen family together for a big Christmas like we used to have. I don't know how many times we will be able to do this so it really was great! We were so blessed and so grateful that we were able to do so many fun things with them. It was especially fun to see all of my brothers and their families. Adam, Noelle, and Brynnley (from Spokane) were here as well as Bret, Jan, and Isabella (from Michigan) and Drew came up from Cedar City. All the of little kids are within a few months of eachother so it was great to watch them play together and get to know eachother.

Ryan had a great Christmas and absolutely got into the whole idea of opening presents. He was so excited to rip open that wrapping paper and see what was inside. We had our own little Christmas on Christmas morning and Santa made a stop at our house. Ryan got a basketball hoop which he loves, as well as tons of other toys and clothes. He must be a natural because he saw his hoop, walked straight up to it, grabbed the ball and slam-dunked it! It was so dang cute! We hope this carries over into his adult life....maybe he will be a stellar ball player and help his parents retire early!

We also got to spend some time with Matt's family. Todd (Matt's younger brother) left on his mission this week so we had the opportunity to go through the temple with him, listen to his farewell talk, and spend some quality time with Matt's family before Todd leaves.

All in all, we love the holidays and the time that we have with family! Hopefully I will be a little better and keep this thing updated! :)

A Week of Thanksgiving!

The past few days have been a lot of fun. I love this time of year when the holidays officially begin. There is plenty of good food, family, friends, and shopping! Matt, Ryan, and I are very lucky to have both families close to us. This year we spent Thanksgiving with Matt's family and then went to my parent's house that night. It really was a great day!

Our little family

Our Turkey dinner was fantastic! We had all the traditional foods. You know turkey, stuffing, homemade rolls, potatoes, and pie. However, Matt's family is unique because they love their pie more than any other family I have ever seen! We had 11 people at dinner (3 of which are under the age of 4) and get this....12 pies! More pies than people! There was 2 chocolate, 1 banana cream, 2 peanut butter, 2 eggnog, 1 cherry, 2 pumpkin, 1 apple, and 1 raspberry cream pie! It was nuts!

Grandma Great (Matt's Grandma), Ryan, and Matt
After dinner, pies, and an hour or so of scouring through the ads and planning the shopping route for the next day, we all drove to my parent's house for some left overs and more pie. My grandma and grandpa Allen were there as well as my uncle Chuck and Drew and a few of his teammates.
My mom, Matt, and I all got up at 4 AM to go shopping on BLACK FRIDAY and it was so worth it. We were at Target when the doors opened and I got everything on my list! Thanks for the fun morning mom!

Overall we had a great holiday weekend and are so grateful for all of our family and the many blessing we have been given!

Oh yeah....this is totally separate from Thanksgiving but we also gave Ryan his first haircut today. He had some major wings working on the sides of his head and a matted nest on the back so we figured it was time. He looks so grown up now! Here is a before picture and a couple after pictures. Check out the mess in the first pictures....it was bad!

BEFORE (CHECK OUT THE WINGS!)

AFTER... SO HANDSOME!

12 month pictures

Here are a few of Ryan's 12 month pictures. He did so well until the end when we tried to change his clothes...he was done! This is why there are only 2 pictures of him in the orange vest, they are the only ones where he was even looking at the camera. I think we got some really cute pictures though.
